Our integrated approach to plastic waste
GFR has developed a integrated engineering platform designed to process mixed, contaminated and difficult-to-recycle plastic waste.
The system combines controlled thermal processing, solid-product manufacture, energy and fuel recovery, gas management and proprietary CSET technology.
GFR is modular by design. Processing capacity can be increased by adding additional reactor modules as waste volumes and production requirements grow.
This allows a GFR facility to start at the capacity required and expand progressively without replacing the core processing system.
Modular Thermal Processing
GFR uses individually operated reactor modules to thermally process compacted mixed-plastic feedstock under controlled conditions.
Rather than relying on one large processing vessel, the GFR system distributes production across multiple reactor modules.
This provides a practical pathway to increasing capacity: additional reactor modules can be added as required without redesigning the entire facility.
The modular configuration also allows individual reactors to operate at different stages of the processing cycle while other modules are being loaded, cooled or unloaded.
Solid Engineered Products
GFR consolidates mixed, contaminated and difficult-to-recycle plastic waste into dense, solid engineered material without requiring the plastic to be completely melted and remoulded.
The consolidated blocks can then be cut and manufactured into useful products such as solid roadside bollards — creating a practical new use for plastic waste that would otherwise be difficult to recycl
Energy, Fuel Recovery and Gas Management
PFAS Breakdown & Mineralisation Research
GFR is researching a controlled process designed to break down PFAS compounds and promote their mineralisation through the proprietary CSET system.
The research focuses on exposing PFAS-containing substances to controlled thermal and pressure conditions during the CSET process, with the objective of breaking persistent chemical bonds and converting fluorinated compounds toward simpler end products.
The process and resulting PFAS breakdown are subject to futher ongoing testing and independent validation.
GFR does more than consolidate plastic waste into solid products. During controlled thermal processing, gases and hydrocarbon compounds released from the feedstock can be recovered and managed as part of the integrated GFR system.
Rather than treating these recovered substances as conventional finished fuels, GFR is developing a controlled pathway for their use as an energy resource through the proprietary CSET system.
This integrated approach connects waste processing, energy recovery, gas management and environmental contaminant management within one modular platform.
